- "You must be a special class of trouble to end up here... The Admin, well... This is where he sends the people who he has special plans for... You may have noticed... it's not a very nice place. And the people? Well... they're not very nice, either."

The Warden is an antagonist in Minecraft: Story Mode Season Two and the former warden of the Sunshine Institute. His first and only appearance was in "Jailhouse Block".
Overview[]
Background[]
The Warden was a griefer with Carmine before he arrived at the Sunshine Institute as a part of the "second group" of guests (people who Romeo sent to make sure that people who made him extra angry would be well-behaved). He became the Warden of the Institute by selling-out Carmine. Other than that, not much is known about his background.
Appearance[]
The Warden is bald and has greyish-blue eyes. He wears a steampunk eye-patch and a military-like suit with a sash.
Personality[]
The Warden's voice can be heard explaining at the end of "Giant Consequences", sounding as a calm man who is explanatory and observant. However, when he orders Jesse to shear Geoff, his true colors are shown. He is in fact an evil, ruthless and sadistic manipulator who will go at great lengths (even if it means threatening people) to get what he wants. This is also shown when he threatens to suffocate Radar to death if Jesse refuses to work with him, and when he orders for the mushroom pit to be dug up out of spite towards Jesse if he/she refuses to shear Geoff. However, it is also revealed that he dislikes working at the Sunshine Institute and wants to leave as if he was an inmate.
Items[]
- Flint and Steel (formerly)
- TNT (formerly)
- Cake (formerly)
- Shears (formerly and temporarily)
Death[]
Killed by[]
After explaining that Xara used to be an Admin and that Romeo took her powers away, the Warden vowed that he would keep his promise to Romeo: that he will never let Xara escape. He threatens to ignite TNT on Jesse, Xara, Jack, Petra, Radar, Nurm/Lluna, and himself to keep that promise. However, before he can do so, Xara shoots him in the chest with an arrow. He promptly dies, dropping flint and steel, which is taken by Rob.

Trivia[]
- According to Eric Stirpe, the Warden had a real name made up by Adam Douglas, but it was not mentioned in-game.[1]
- The song "A Warden's Duty" is actually Audio Tracks overlapped. Warden Escape A where the Synth and buzz is from, and Warden Escape B is where the music is from the encounter itself.[2][3]
- Intentional or not, the Warden has a few similarities with Hadrian.
- Both run a place of torture. (Hadrian runs the Builder games, while the Warden runs the Sunshine Institute)
- Both torture their victims and refuse to let them leave, fully intending on trapping them forever.
- Both are seen making deals with other people. Specifically, the Warden offers to promote Jesse if he/she shears Geoff.
- Unlike Hadrian, The Warden does keep his promise if Jesse shears Geoff.
- Despite these similarities, the two do have some differences. For example, unlike Hadrian, The Warden:
- Is an employee himself.
- Is actually shown torturing someone.
- Allows his victims to work for him on some occasions.
- Usually keeps his word when making a deal.
- Dies near the end of his debut.
