- "This game series adapts to the choices you make. The story is tailored by how you play."

Choices are an important aspect of Minecraft: Story Mode that allow the Player to decide what their character, Jesse, will say and what decisions they make during gameplay. The choices you make in the game will affect the story and plot.
Impact[]
Choices are a defining element of Minecraft: Story Mode, since what Jesse says and the decisions they make may change the outcome of the game or a certain section of the game. Choices ensure that each Player gets a unique gameplay experience, depending on what choices they make.
Some decisions are minor and do not affect gameplay as much, but some decisions can change entire gameplay, even resulting in the death of a character.
The importance and effect of a choice can range from extra dialogue to a whole new section of the game.
Decisions[]
The player usually gets an option of 4 choices, out of which they must choose one in a limited time. The time period can vary, depending on the situation. Sometimes there may not be a time limit at all, if the decision is pivotal to the plotline.
Most plot-altering choices offer two decisions, and notify the player of its changes. These choices can change a variety of things, such as:
- Which characters Jesse ends up with
- The statuses of allies or rivals
- Jesse's reputation/karma
- The items or gear Jesse possesses
- The episode or saga's ending
While some important choices appear as dialogue options, others slow down time and pan the camera between Jesse and the different choices they have.
Important decisions are displayed after the Episode is over, and further can be viewed on Telltale's Official Website.

Trivia[]
- Episode 2 has the most game-changing choice outcomes in the game, which is recruiting either Magnus or Ellegaard (Chosen in episode 1), since that choice determines a majority of the chapter's setting.
- In Episode 3, depending on the Player's choice of whose armor to take, either Magnus or Ellegaard will die.
- In Episode 5, if Jesse takes Aiden with him/her, Aiden will talk to Jesse. However, if Jesse kicks him off the edge or walks away from him, Aiden will just stare at Jesse when he walks with the sky city guards when he gets taken away. .
- In Episode 6, if you don't accuse anyone for being the The White Pumpkin, DanTDM will lock himself in the library and LDshadowlady dies in Dan's place.
- Season 2 Episode 4 has one of the biggest choices in the game with bringing Radar or Binta's people as it affects other huge choices. Only if you brought Binta's people, Romeo can be saved. If you bring Radar, no matter which choice, Romeo doesn't make it out of the destroyed Terminal. And Binta won't appear after the episode. Radar's role will be changed between a major character or only appearing near the end in Above the Beyond.
- What a character says can make an impact in further episodes as well.
- For example, if Jesse is kind to Lukas in Episode 1 and 3, Lukas will say that Jesse is his friend in Episode 4, but if Jesse is rude and mean to him, he will say that they weren't really friends.
- In Episode 1, if Jesse chooses to punch Ivor and read about him being in the Order of the Stone, Axel will say "Man! I can't believe you punched a member of the The Order of the Stone!" Also, in Episode 4, Jesse can apologize to Ivor about punching him.
- Depending on Jesse's choice of either chicken-sized zombies or zombie-sized chickens in Episode 1, Hadrian and Mevia will be stuck in a world of their choice in Episode 8.
