Associates (or Guards) are the security detail of the Sunshine Institute and characters in Minecraft: Story Mode Season 2. They used to be "guests" until they rose up in the ranks and later became Associates. Most of them have been promoted and hired by The Warden.

Associates are guards, and if "guests" do not behave themselves, they are sent down to the lower levels of the Zombie Mines, near Cellblock X where Xara was imprisoned. Associates also get a delicate supply of ingredients, though they are not approved by the Warden, as determinately explained by Anthony.
