What is the best scene in MCSM? When I think about the best scenes I usually think about the scenes that tell us about the characters and the themes of the stories. Now what scene has the most heart to it? What scene gives the best understanding of the characters. “But Astro, this is a fucking Spinoff of a block game there aren’t many moments like that” Yes that is true, which is what made it easy for me to choose the best scene. The best scene In MCSM in my opinion is the cabin scene between Jesse and Petra. The reason I chose this scene is because of what it says about Petra, who is the most compelling not Jesse character. Throughout Season 2 Petra is looking for her belonging. Jesse, Lukas, Axel, and Oliva have found what makes them happy. Jack is presumed dead or it is unknown how long he will stay around depending on if you gave your swords to those scavengers. Petra still hasn’t found her calling. Petra feels abandoned which is something I think we can all empathize with. Petra misses her glory days. This doesn’t just help me empathize with Petra but also with Romeo. Romeo and Petra wanted to be with their friends but they slowly drifted away. After replaying MCSM S2 I realized that Romeo is what Petra could have become had the loneliness driven her mad. Another reason this scene is nothing short of sheer brilliance is the title of the music used being “Just Kids”. When we were just kids we never realized the weight of our situations. Having so much fun we never realized these small moments were the best of our lives. These memories are nothing but the past as you get older you wish you could go back. Yet we cherish them. And the final gut punch is choosing whether you will be with Petra all the way or you will wait for her. This scene also enhances the conversation from two episodes prior and the conversation in the treasure room in champion city understanding Petra’s POV. And that is why I think that the cabin scene is hands down the best scene in all of MCSM
